Bullying; When is Self-Defense Okay
Posted on 1/24/11 by Charles
Who wins when two people fight? We teach our students that fighting is ugly, and there is never a winner to a violent altercation. We teach our students to 'use common sense before self-defense,' meaning we talk our way out, walk our way out, or run our way out of violence. But this is not always possible. Despite most schools adopting a zero tolerance policy for violence, bullying problems are on the rise, not on the decline.
Against the grain of political correctness, we also teach our students that they are NOT anyone's punching bag and they are NOT to take a beating when other avenues are exhausted or impossible. That is exactly why Innovative Martial Arts Academy is a self-defense oriented martial arts school instead of a point-tournament school. Knowing how to protect yourself brings out real confidence in how you walk, talk, and interact with others. Confidence that will usually keep a bully at bay. Innovative Martial Arts Academy is the best source for karate and martial arts in the Wake Forest and North Raleigh area.
Charles Falk has been involved with martial arts for over 30 years and is a self-defense expert. His school, Innovative Martial Arts Academy, is located in Wake Forest. If you have any questions for Mr. Falk, feel free to contact him at 562-4663.
