Innovative Martial Arts Academy, Wake Forest, NC is holding a ‘Kickin’ For The Cure’ Kick-A-Thon benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation for fighting breast cancer.  We’ve had several family members in our martial arts academy battling this particular cancer and being a martial arts school, we want to fight back. 

Our students will be out collecting sponsors who can choose to make a one-time donation or sponsor them per kick.  The students will be limited to 200 kicks, so if as a sponsor, you want to give .20 cents per kick, and the student completes the maximum allowed, you will donate $20 dollars to the foundation.

We will begin our ‘Karate Track Out Camps’ on May 7th.  We’re not your average run of the mill camp.  It will be physical and with a special emphasis on ‘character education’.  We will teach the importance of manners and respect and the campers will be learning martial arts.  It will be fun and exciting!

Drop off begins at 7:30am, and pickup at 5:30pm.  Cost is $170.00 per week, Innovative Martial Arts Academy students and families get a special discount rate of $160.00.

Innovative Martial Arts Academy is proud to host a two day seminar with Mr. Ron Balicki.  Mr. Balicki is one of the most sought after martial arts teachers alive today.  His experience derives from being one of Guro Dan Inosanto’s certified instructors, law enforcement background, and security work.  He will be teaching techniques from Filipino and Indonesian martial arts, muay thai, Jun Fan JKD, and mixed martial arts.

Innovative Martial Arts Academy is hosting a Women’s Self Defense Seminar on April 28th, 2012.  It’s called ‘Intense Defense’, and it’s one of our most sought after and loved programs.  We cover everything you can think of and instruct you in a safe environment so that you will not be the statistical 1 of 4 women assaulted in the U.S. 

You will learn the ‘Eight Tools of Self-Preservation’, Fight Back Combinations, how to read situations and have environmental awareness, how to find and use improvised weapons, how to help someone else in a safe manner, and so much more!

The Promotion Ceremony will be this Saturday, June 25th at the Wake Forest-Rolesville High School gym.  It begins at 3:30 pm. 

The gymnasium is located directly behind the school.  Access to the gym will be via ‘Rock Springs Road’  You will see a sign that says, “Events Parking”.  Follow that road down to the new parking deck, and make a left immediately after the parking deck.  That will take you directly to the gym and plenty of parking.  I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Innovative Martial Arts Academy is hosting an Intense Defense seminar on Saturday, June 4th starting at 10am.  This class is for women only and limited to 10 students. 

Statistically, one out of four women will be or have been violently assaulted in their lifetime.  The numbers are going up.  This course covers everything, from how to fend off an armed attacker to using improvised weapons to what to do if you’re pinned down to the ground.  The one thing we guarantee is that you won’t be the same person when you complete this course.

Fight Club is meeting on February 26th.  What is Fight Club, you ask?  It’s our sparring class.  We will go over kickboxing, sparring, and IMMA drills to give the students an edge when it comes to sparring in their regular classes. 

This is event is FREE and open to IMAA students only!  The event will start at 11am and will end about 1pm.  Students must have sparring gear!
